Overnight Cycling Adventure from Loveland to Yellow Springs

About this event

The route covers 53 miles one way on mostly flat, paved roads or trail, making it an accessible and enjoyable journey.

Experienced tour leaders will be on hand to share their knowledge and tips throughout the trip. Registration is required, and spots are limited—only 12 camping spots or 12 spots in The Springs Motel are available on a first-paid, first-reserved basis. Be sure to register early and submit the non-refundable camping fee to secure your spot!

The ride begins at the Linda Cox Parking Lot, 205 Broadway St., Loveland, OH 45150, where overnight parking is permitted in the back of the lot.
Riders will embark on a scenic 53-mile journey (40 miles is starting in Morrow) along mostly flat, paved route, as the majority of the trip follows the Little Miami Bike Trail north towards Yellow Springs. About a mile before town, the route veers onto local roads leading to the state park, where campsites #01 and #02 are reserved. The entire route is paved for a smooth and enjoyable ride. A pre-ride informational meeting will be held within 10 days before the ride.

An alternative starting point is the Morrow, OH trailhead, (30 miles) where parking is available at the police station.

 

The ride leaders will ride at a pace to accommodate a group ride. However, a participant may chose to ride set your their pace and take breaks whenever you like. For dinner, riders can choose to eat at a restaurant in Yellow Springs or cook a meal at the campsite. Keep in mind that the nearest restaurant is a 3-mile ride (one way) from the campsite. Alternatively, you can ride directly into Yellow Springs, order takeout, and bring your meal back to the park. The campsite offers showers, water, and toilets for convenience.


On Sunday morning, riders have several breakfast options before heading back to Morrow and Loveland. They can cook at the campsite, dine at a restaurant in Yellow Springs, or stop along the trail for a meal. Xenia, located along the route, offers options like McDonald's and a donut shop for a quick bite.

Ride Cost - Camping : There is a $20 non-refundable camping fee to cover the shared cost of campsite reservations. Your registration is only confirmed upon payment. Registration is limited to 12 campers on a first-paid, first-reserved basis. All other expenses are the responsibility of the participant.
Ride Cost - Hoteling/other: 
If you are riding and staying overnight other than camping, registration with Hotel Option and payment of $5 for ride insurece.

Mandatory Equipment: All cyclists must wear a helmet while riding.

Weather & Scheduling: If inclement weather is forecasted for Saturday, the ride may be postponed by one day, departing Sunday from the East Loveland Nature Preserve and returning Monday.

Support & Accommodations: This ride does not include SAG support, so riders should be prepared to handle any mechanical issues independently.

Rider Preparedness: Participants must carry the necessary tools and be able to perform basic bike repairs, such as fixing a flat tire.

Equipment Check Opportunity: This ride is a great chance to test your gear before our extended trips planned for July and August.
