This is one of Warren County‘s weekly rides. We typically have two or three groups with about 4-10 riders, each. A typical average speed for the slowest group is 15 -16 mph and for fastest group is 17 - 20 mph (depending on hills and time of year). We will mix-up routes, including heading north to the hilly Oregonia, and Caesars Creek and East towards Blanchester. Expect some climbing, including unavoidable steeper climbs (10% gradient). Depending on the amount of daylight we usually do about 30 miles, at the beginning and at the end of the season, and up to 50 miles in the peak of the season.
All groups are No Drop rides. The route is usually sent out on the day of a ride. We regroup periodically to make sure that the group stays together.
Registration is required to have access to CCC insurance.
England Idlewild Park, park past the basketball court.
The TNKY starts from a different location every week. Enjoy the scenic but challenging hills of Kentucky on lightly traveled roads.
Former St. Margaret/St. John Church
It will be cool for this week‘s ride, in the high 50‘s. Like last week you might not break a sweat.
This is a single speed group ride, we do not break up into sub-groups. We always wait at logical intersections and at the top of climbs for riders to regroup. It’s a no drop ride with a manageable sized group.
Plan on 33 miles and 1,600 feet of climbing over 3 manageable hills. Here is Wednesday‘s route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42372122?privacy_code=rmJPIgTrkTcU2Jsi
A CCC RIde Waiver needs to be signed. We start a new season so a new waiver.
It may be getting dark before the end of the ride so headlights and tail lights are required. Helmets are required too, of course.
If you ride ahead of the group then you’re on your own.
We leave promptly at 6:30pm. Please arrive early. We will always do our best to observe all established traffic regulations and ride safely. Average speeds will vary between 14-16 MPH. Expect flat road speeds to exceed 20+ at times. Potential wet weather or wet roads will cancel the ride. Parking in the church lot is permitted.
Stonelick State Park - Beach Parking Lot
We’ll start and finish at the beach parking lot at Stonelick State Park (just follow the park signs to the beach).
If there’s enough interest, we’ll split into two pace groups. If not, we’ll decide at the start and ride together—either way, no one will be left behind.
The route follows mostly low-traffic roads and features flat to gently rolling terrain, with no major climbs.
We’ll make a short stop about halfway (around mile 12) at the Marathon Park. The route is 27 miles with 600 feet of climbing.
St Leon American Legion Post 464
We are going to be riding a great ride that we did in early April but this time in reverse.
Wheels rolling at 9:30am
48.5 miles and 1800 ft ascent
